ನಾ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕರ್ಮ ಬಲವಂತವಾದರೆ
ನೀ ಮಾಡುವುದೇನೋ ದೇವ
ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಲ್ಲಿದು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಬರೆದ ಬರಹ
ನೇಮದಿಂದಲಿ ಎನ್ನ ಹಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದುದಕೆ
ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನ್ನ ಕೊಟ್ಟವನಲ್ಲ ಪರ
ಸತಿಯರ ಸಂಘಗಳ ಬಿಟ್ಟವನಲ್ಲ

Satiyara saṅghagaḷa biṭṭavanalla |
Matihīna nān āgi maruḷāgiddeṇo dēva
Gatiyāvudinnu Garuḍagamana Kr̥ṣṇa ||

Annapānangaḷige agragaṇyanāgi
Snāna sandhyādi japa tapava nīgi |
Dānavāntaka ninna dhyānava māḍade

Mannisalu salahayya Manmatha janaka |

Translation
Pallavi
If the strength of my past actions holds sway,
What will You do to rescue me, O Lord?
Charana 1
This is no ordinary matter—it is the decree of Brahma,
A destiny inscribed upon my forehead with certainty.
Charana 2
I am not one who fed guests generously,
Nor have I refrained from abandoning the company of noble women.
In my ignorance, I became deluded, O Lord,
What refuge is left for me now, O Garuḍagamana Kr̥ṣṇa?
Charana 3
Though I was given opportunities to be a provider of food and water,
I neglected my duties such as bathing, prayers, and austerities.
O Destroyer of Demons, without meditating on You,
I wandered like a stray dog from house to house.
Charana 4
Yet, even now, there is the company of Your devoted servants.
Forgive me and guide me, O Father of Manmatha.
None other can be my support or refuge,
O Pannagaśayana, O Purandara Viṭṭhala.
