ಅಕ್ಕ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕದೊಂದು ಗಿಳಿಯ ತಂದು ಸಾಕಿದೆ|
ಅಕ್ಕ ನಾನಿಲ್ಲದ ವೇಳೆ ಬೆಕ್ಕು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಯಿತಯ್ಯೋ|| ೧||
ಅರ್ತಿಗೊಂದು ಗಿಳಿಯ ಸಾಕಿದ ಮುತ್ತಿನಹಾರವ ಹಾಕಿದೆ|

ಅಸುವ ಕುಂದಿ ಗಿಳಿಯು ತಾನು ಹಸನಗೆಡಿಸಿ ಹೋಯಿತಯ್ಯೋ|| ೩||
ಮುಪ್ಪಾಗದ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆಯನು ತಪ್ಪದೇ ನಾ ಹಾಕಿದೆ ಸಾಕಿದೆ|

Translation of the Keerthane “ಗಿಳಿಯು ಪಂಜರದೊಳಿಲ್ಲಾ”

Oh sister! Listening to your words, I reared a little parrot,
But when I was not around, a cat carried it away!

But alas! It lost its spirit and flew away, leaving behind sorrow. - I gave it pure butter regularly, taking care not to miss a day,
