Translation

Pallavi
Money (duggāṇi) is often associated with wicked company,
Money can be exceedingly harmful, O Lord.

Charana 1
Pretending to follow righteous conduct for money is disgraceful,
Performing lowly deeds for wealth is vile.
Wandering shamelessly from house to house for alms,
Becoming an object of scorn is due to greed for money.

Charana 2
Feigning friendship for monetary gain is disgraceful,
Using money to manipulate others is harmful.
Like a camel struggling awkwardly under a heavy burden,
Such actions make one appear wretched in society.

Charana 3
Living a life centered on money is disgraceful,
Losing one’s integrity for wealth is deplorable.
Failing to recognize the true treasure—
The grace of Śrī Purandara Viṭṭhala—is the ultimate folly.
