You head to the place where grains are pounded,
Peeking and searching curiously.
When grains are pounded with a pestle,
You make a clattering noise—”Kaṅj Kuṅj Kaṅj Kuṅj.”
You go where porridge is prepared,
Bending and stooping to watch.
When the pot is stirred for porridge,
You again make a clattering noise—”Kaṅj Kuṅj Kaṅj Kuṅj.”
You run down the main streets,
Scattering ashes as you wander.
Forgetting the ways of Purandara Vittala,
You are always aimlessly on the move.
